Finance economist researching the environmental Kuznets curve, energy markets, and tourism-finance linkages.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Setareh Katircioglu is an economist and finance scholar at the University of Kyrenia, holding a PhD in Finance from Eastern Mediterranean University (2017). Her research applies applied time-series econometrics to questions at the intersection of energy, tourism, and financial development.
Her work has examined the environmental Kuznets curve across Turkey and globally, the role of oil prices and financial-sector performance, and the links between tourism growth and financial development — much of it in close collaboration with fellow economist Salih Katircioglu.
She serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of Economic & Management Perspectives and of Energy Perspectives, and reviews regularly for journals including Environmental Science and Pollution Research.
